Bachelor’s degree or higher, preferably computer science, Engineering or field related to the product or equivalent experience.
Demonstrated experience in a product based IS/IT organization
10+ years of experience in the field of network engineering, demonstrating a strong foundation and expertise in various IT solution disciplines.
Proven ability to design, test and implement network solutions that align with business requirements and industry best practices.
Extensive experience in WAN (Wide Area Network) and ISP (Internet Service Provider) network management area, including the configuration, monitoring, and troubleshooting of network infrastructure.
Strong communication skills in English, with the ability to effectively engage with stakeholders at different levels within the organization.
Position Summary
Are you an experienced and skilled Senior Network Engineer seeking an exciting opportunity to join Nestlé's ITP Connectivity & Voice team in Milan, Italy? We are actively seeking a dynamic individual to take on the role of Product Owner for various connectivity products, including SDWAN and VPN solutions. This role will involve working with leading technologies such as Cisco, Fortinet, and Palo Alto, while continuously driving innovation to empower our workforce with cutting-edge solutions.
A Day in the Life of a Connectivity Product Owner:
Provides deep specialist guidance and support in the WAN Connectivity area
Supports the integration of solutions with various technologies such as Cisco, PaloAlto and Fortinet networking platforms
Delivers the technical activities (design, build, testing) in significant or complex innovation initiatives, accountable to the Innovation or Product Manager for the delivery and quality of technical deliverables
Makes recommendations on how to improve the effectiveness, efficiency and delivery of SDSWAN and VPN products through the use of new and existing technologies and technical methods and methodologies
Provides the product team with technical expertise, advising on best technology solutions, translating the business vision into technical vision
Participates in the development of or review of standards, documentation and methods of working in the relevant area of expertise
Performs preliminary studies, general systems specifications and detailed systems specifications
Considers a broad range of options and applies sound judgment to develop solutions within WAN Connectivity area
Ensures solution operational readiness: defines global procedures and processes for operations in the area of expertise
Ensures IS/IT Customer and Consumer requirements are met and service quality maintained when introducing new products. Considers the cost effectiveness of proposed solutions
Responsible for ensuring that WAN Connectivity services are delivered and maintained secure and compliant with internal standards and external regulations, including privacy requirements
Understands the business risk appetite and delivers applications within the level of acceptable risk
Assists others in resolving complex technical problems and investigating the root cause of problems and recommends smart (specific, measurable, achievable, realistic, timely) solutions
Participates in peer reviews of deliverables and carries out formal and informal reviews of technical designs, standards, documentation and/or implementations
Provides guidance, directions and if needed, technical support to product teams, mentoring and sharing technology knowledge with the teams.
What else will make you successful?
A minimum of 10 years of experience in ISP and/or Large Enterprise network
Experience with Cisco SDWAN technology is considered advantageous, indeed certifications in relevant technical fields are considered beneficial (i.e. CCNP, CCIE)
A Master's degree in computer science, system analysis, or a related field, or equivalent experience
Experience working in a global environment and collaborating with virtual teams
Demonstrated ability to support Agile project teams by providing guidance on opportunities, impact, and risks, considering technical and architectural needs
Experience in managing advisory councils, industry user groups, and key technology partners (vendors, Account Managers, Product Managers, Lab advocates, and Executives)
Exposure to a wide range of technologies and processing environments
Excellent understanding of application development methodologies and architectural modeling
Ability to translate future-state business capabilities and requirements into solution architecture requirements
Strong ability to comprehend both the long-term ("big picture") and short-term perspectives of situations
Innovative mindset combined with analytical thinking
Capable of influencing with integrity
Understanding and knowledge of system development life cycle methodologies (such as agile software development, rapid prototyping, DevOps, project management principles)
Familiarity with IS/IT standards and controls
Ability to understand the financial impact of technology alternatives.
