Summary

The Generation Maintenance Supervisor at Redhawk Power Plant provides technical direction to a team comprised of union skilled craft employees to ensure routine, emergency and overhaul maintenance work is planned, scheduled and performed in a safe, timely and effective manner to ensure unit reliability, economics and work quality. Maintenance teams may be comprised of mechanical maintenance craft employees, E&I Technicians or a combination of both.

Minimum Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED

  • Plus five (5) years power generation experience in Maintenance, Operations, Planning and/or Engineering positions.

  • Demonstrated experience in a leadership role.

    Preferred Special Skills, Knowledge or Qualifications:

  • Qualification and experience in a journey-level maintenance craft discipline (e.g., mechanical, electrical, etc.).

  • Experience as a plant Control Operator.

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering.

  • Proficiency with computer and computer applications (Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook).

  • Working knowledge of Maximo or similar computerized work management program.

  • Excellent communication skills.

  • Ability to work well in a team environment.

  • Proven experience or knowledge of business practices and processes in power plant generation business including budget development, labor relations, and environmental and safety regulations. ​​​​​​​

Major Accountabilities

1) Guides and leads team members by providing supervision, coaching, mentoring, performance management, training and discipline. Administers processes and procedures in accordance with union contract. Communicates company programs, announcements, policies, etc. to employees. Provides feedback from employees to management.

2) Supervises craft personnel to ensure all assigned maintenance activities are performed safely and effectively and in accordance with plant procedures, regulations, and site schedule. Ensures department personnel are properly supervised, trained and qualified to perform assignments.

3) Implements and assures compliance with the Fossil Generation Conduct of Maintenance Process which provides guidance and work practices for conducting maintenance activities in a manner that promotes safety and quality.

4) Participates in various aspects of work control, coordination, scheduling and engineering meetings involving load reductions, forced outages and planned outages activities to ensure that work is properly assigned, planned and ready to work.

5) Participates in all aspects of Maintenance Department management to ensure proper maintenance of electrical and mechanical equipment and to support safe and efficient operation of the plant including the development, implementation and performance monitoring of all corporate, site and business unit goals.

This position requires Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) access consistent with North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) standards. The applicant considered for this role will be required to obtain and maintain CIP access for the duration of employment in this position. A full seven (7) year criminal history will be obtained through the pre-employment background check process (or, for current employees, through supplemental background check process) to fulfill the CIP access requirements. In addition, this position requires an additional background check every seven years to maintain access.
